The beach will never disappoint you, that’s for sure. And taking the road to a getaway to the sun, sand and waves will always be a good choice. If you have time thinking about it, this is your sign, pack your bags and take the road to happiness. Here are some ideas to get you back to your happy place.
The drive from Gulf Shores, Alabama to Panama City Beach, Florida offers incredible views and access to places like Orange Beach, Pensacola, Santa Rosa Island, Fort Walton, and Destin. On this route, you can take advantage of passing through Florabama. The Flora-Bama Lounge and Package is a gulf front oyster bar, beach bar, and Gulf Coast cultural landmark touted as being America’s “Last Great Roadhouse”.
You can also enjoy, in addition to the coast, the breathtaking view of the cliffs and the vast Atlantic if you take the Park Loop Road in Maine’s Acadia National Park, this route will take you along the rocky coast of this northern state.
Another good option for breathtaking views along the way is California’s Highway One, six hundred and fifty miles of some of the country’s most spectacular coastline, which will take you through cities like Santa Monica, Malibu, Monterey, San Francisco, and Long Beach.
Ocean Drive is one of Miami’s most popular areas. It’s a boardwalk located in the South Beach area where all the clichés about Miami come true; sculptural bodies skating along the boardwalk, dream beaches, tropical cocktails, loud Latin music, and Art Deco buildings. In the mornings, the clear-water beaches fill to bursting point, and in the evenings, it’s one of the most lively areas for partying or dining on a terrace.
